Demanding the attention of listeners with her powerhouse vocals, Jade Hopcroft brings her version of pop with a twist and has attracted comments such as ‘completely moreish’ and ‘the definition of a tune.’

She moved to the South West at a young age, with a fascination to paint, draw and make everything she could.

After leaving the school she made the choice that the restraints of studying art wasn’t for her and without any training impulsively signed up for a music course.

The next few years shaped Jade as an artist and performer, traveling to London and playing shows at The Troubadour, Notting Hill Arts Club and Bush Hall.

Starting her career as a solo acoustic artist supporting names such as Matt Corby, Marika Hackman and Luke Sital-Singh she transformed her sound into bigger emotive pop.

With influences such as Brandi Carlile, Brittany Howard and Lykke Li she uses bold vocal hooks with revealing but relatable lyrics.

After her debut EP release Obsessions, comparisons to Florence + The Machine and Maggie Rogers were imminent, and she holds her own in such great company.

Recently backed by BBC Introducing’s Sarah Gosling, who said she blew the competition out of the water for her as Introducing pick of the week.

Jade has recently split her time between the UK and the US and after working with long-time friend and producer Ben Hobbs on her new record, Jade is back with her new single ‘You Said.’

Elaborate on the song.

‘You Said’ is about the difference between people saying things and meaning what they say. I find in relationships, people just tell people what they want to hear because they’re scared of commitment and telling the truth. When actually telling them the truth would hurt a lot less.

Update us on the latest news pertaining to your music career.

‘You Said’ is the first single of my new music. After a break and making contacts in the USA, I had been writing a lot.

So, I worked with my producer Ben Hobbs on these new tracks over the last year or so. My second track ‘Nobody Loves Me Like You’ will be out on November 28th.

Send a message to your fans and supporters.

I am super lucky to have such positive and loyal fans. I’m always grateful for every single person listening and sharing my music. I think unless you’re an artist it’s hard to comprehend what that feels like.

Discuss your next project.

My second single ‘Nobody Loves Me Like You’ will be released on 28th November with another announcement coming over the next couple of weeks.

This song is probably my favourite but the most difficult song I’ve written this year and I’m excited to get it out there, even though it’s personal and emotional.

Lyrics of the Song:

I’ve been dreaming of you and I shouldn’t be

My mind caught up on possibility

Like where you are and if you think of me

Seems for you I have an affinity

When we met I felt so speechless

and for so long you were my weakness

Gave you my heart asked you to keep it

I didn’t think that I would miss it

You said, you said, you said

You never really wanted me

Just left me to believe

That we were something that could not be

Do you ever say what you mean?

You never really wanted me

Can’t stand me to be free

You’re lying through your teeth

When you say, you never really wanted me

You shouldn’t look at me the way you do

Now I’ve found myself somebody new

It drives you mad that you don’t know who

Oh you should have thought that through

You said, you said, you said

You never really wanted me

Just left me to believe

That we were something that could not be

Do you ever say what you mean?

You never really wanted me

Can’t stand me to be free

You’re lying through your teeth

When you say, you never really wanted me

I know that I have sacrificed the truth

And I know that I have given into you

I know that this is not the life I choose

Because I know better now, yeah I know better now

You said, you said, you said

You never really wanted me

Just left me to believe

That we were something that could not be

Do you ever say what you mean?

You never really wanted me

Can’t stand me to be free

You’re lying through your teeth

When you say, you never really wanted me
